Teenagers And Their Fashionable Jewellery

I was watching a programme on the television last night and it set me thinking about how women style themselves.

I personally think we are all individuals and hate to follow any set fashion style.I am my own person and if people don’t like what I am wearing then that’s their lookout and not mine.  I’m not going to rush to the shops to buy the clothes just because so and so is wearing them.

However, my thirteen year old daughter is passionate about following the latest trends and the person she is following at the moment is Pixie Lott.It does strike me as strange that even though Pixie is only a few years old than my teenage daughter, she has already achieved so much.  Can they really go from little girl to huge pop star in such a short time of space.

Currently my daughter and her friends are absolutely obsessed with any sort of silver jewellery.   Her dressing table is absolutely crammed full of silver necklaces and silver bracelets.I can’t see that she will ever wear half of it, but she buys it anyway just because her favourite pop idol is wearing it.

So many of these pop stars start their careers singing, but then a few years down the line, they bring out their own fashion ranges and so continue to make money out of our teenagers.

Their management are very clever and I suppose they know that their clients only have a relatively short shelf life, so try to make the very most out of them.

Mind you, I’m not so sure I am that different because I can remember the days when I was 13 and I went to see my favourite band – Adam and The Ants.  They were fantastic live and I pestered my mum and dad for weeks and weeks to let me buy a jacket just like the one that Adam wore.I came so close to my dad buying me one, but mum was a real spoil sport and put her foot down at the last minute. So perhaps things aren’t really that different, it’s just that I have finally grown up!!
