Reception Furniture: Don’t Let Small Spaces Get The Better Of You

People are starting to realise the importance of having a really impressive reception area. Make the most of your space whether you’re a receptionist for a large firm or a small boutique style business. The thing is, there are still many people that haven’t worked out how to make the most of their space. Reception furniture needs to be in keeping with the rest of your business and should always give the right impression.

Make your reception area look inviting and this should make the customer want to explore the place further. People say that someone can make up their mind if they like somewhere within a matter of seconds, and if you’re trying to get a sale out of them then you need to give the best impression that you can. Keep clutter to a minimum and then you won’t put people off – this applies to pictures, ornaments and floor clutter. Too much for the eye to view in a small space can be detrimental to your business, especially if you run a hotel.

It has to be said that many individuals feel confident about their reception furniture choices, and think it is easy to put in place. Those that do get it wrong often end up with little space to move around and a rather interesting set of colours to alert the visitor’s eye. Make your reception area spacious enough to allow heavy numbers of people to walk through it on a regular basis. You don’t want your furniture to take over the room and make it the only thing the eye can see. Think about your receptionist too – they need to have enough floor space to manoeuvre around. There are potential health and safety hazards with too much clutter behind reception. The workplace should meet health and safety standards at all times, so be sure to do regular checks.

Make the most of your reception space by choosing appropriate furniture. Small reception areas need to have smaller furniture. Any public reception area should be viewed with the customer in mind and one should consider different shapes and sizes of people, as well as additions like prams and bags.

The idea of a public room space and using it properly still baffles many people, but it is all about choosing the right reception furniture at the end of the day.
