Mahogany wood have several exclusive advantage as indoor furniture material. This wood is used for several applications because of its strength and density. They have a straight grain, and a fine, even texture which accepts many kinds of stain. This wood is not exactly belonging to the family of hardwood, but medium between hardwood and softwood. Therefore, frequently found moisture content of this wood is a bit higher and the fiber is soft a little bit. In order to avoid the wood-worm and to improve furniture quality, we’re recently four steps in our manufacturing processing. First and easiest way is to heat the sawn timber mixed with some chemical treatment. This kills insects, eggs and larva. Second step is input sawn timbers into kiln dry. Third step is use treatment again after output from kiln dry. Then Fourth step is to soak the furniture in DTM wood protectant (Content : Deltamethrin 2,5% W/V) diluted with water or light oil (ratio 1 : 1000). Deltamethrin is biodegradable chemical which is environmentaly save to use and does not cause serious health risks to human (ISO 1750 approved).
Latest step is furniture products go to drained and dried under the sun. By using those way will protect mahogany wood and mahogany furniture from insects such as pinhole and shot hole, borer, power-post bettles, termites, and wood worm.
